How Big are the Babies?
My sources say the babies are as big as bell peppers this week, measuring about 5 1/2 inches and weighing almost 7 ounces.
How I’m Changing
Well, I might have felt the first itty bitty baby movements this week. It’s really hard to distinguish internal stretching and growing pains from gas pains from movement. Either way, I know something is going on in there these days.
The bump continues to grow and sometimes get in the way; leaning over the sink to put on my mascara is difficult, so is rolling over in bed. The (totally normal) amount of weight gained has started to make some things tough, too; running is really, really hard, so walking is preferable.
How I’m Feeling/What I’m Thinking
I’m so, so curious to see the babies at our big 20-week ultrasound/anatomy scan in a little more than a week. I’m anxious to see how much they’ve grown, what they’re doing in there and, of course, find out whether they’re boys, girls or one of each!
I’m finally ready to register for gifts, too. We were going to do it this weekend, but we really should wait until we know the genders, so we can best pick out bedding, car seats, etc. We have some ideas in mind for what kind of nursery we would like (colors, theme), but we haven’t settled on anything. We’ll be able to do that when we know if we’re decorating for two boys, two girls or one of each.
All that said, I’m pretty convinced there’s one boy and one girl in my belly. I don’t know why, I just feel very strongly that we will be blessed with one of each. All the gender prediction tools and tales kind of go out the window with twins, so maybe gut instincts mean more?

Cravings answered: One – for hot dogs. Christopher on Tuesday made – from scratch – pretzel dogs. He went to all the trouble to make homemade pretzel dough, and together we wrapped it around hot dogs and baked them. So. Freaking. Good.
-
Babies played with: One! Amy, her husband and their now almost 5-month-old baby boy came to visit last weekend. Baby M is such a sweet, happy baby (except for not sleeping at night lately), and he provided Christopher and I a lot of smiles over the weekend.
